Matchbook Romance/Armor for Sleep on Tuesday
  • Got there and there's NO ONE in line. WTF?
  • Got in on the guest list just fine
  • Had to suffer through Gatsby's American Dream (why they need another drummer I don't know) and Lovedrug (BLEEEHHH)
  • Gave the kid asking us if there was free water shit
  • Gave the kids who were under 21 that kept trying to leave shit. I swear about 50 of them tried to walk out the door but when they were told they wouldn't be able to get back in they were kind of mad and changed their minds.
  • Sat in the bar and suffocated from all the smoke. We officially became the old creepy people.
  • Said hi to Meg and it was weird seeing her with Autumn.
  • When AFS came on Alex and I pushed our way to the front and it was awesome. I got stuck by some assholes who have not been to many shows before because they didn't know how to act. When I would get pushed into them and it wouldn't even be that hard, this dude and his bitchy friend would like push me really hard back into the pit and I wanted to punch them both in the face. This dude thought it'd be cute to start his own mosh pit and be an asshole and make some kind of statement. So I kicked him in the back. hahahahahah
  • There was some dude in the pit thrashing around like an idiot so I slapped him and he apologized to me. hahahahha
  • We left after AFS because Alex wanted to leave and neither one of us really cared about seeing MBR. I wish Dirty still did their merch. That would have been an incentive :(
  • We went to the President Casino to try and get our parking validated for free but we went inside and the lady wanted me to pay 2 bucks for one of those crappy players cards and I was basically over the idea after I heard that because I'm not paying 3 bucks to save 2 on parking. So we paid 5 bucks to park and left.

Rufio/MXPX/Relient K on Wednesday

Got out of lab really early (like 4:30) so I went home, showered, called Lowell and then he came over and we ate dinner together. We left here around 6 for the Pageant and got there around 6:30. Went to wil call and got my tickets okay and got my 2 photo passes *YESSSS* and went inside. Met up with Karissa and gave her my extra photo pass. Sat down and watched Over It who were pretty good but of course no one knew who they were. Rufio came on and Karissa and I tried to go down and take pictures but this asshole security guard stopped us. He tried to tell us that our photo passes weren't photo passes but were aftershow passes instead when it CLEARLY shows that "photo" is circled on the pass and not aftershow. He started to ask us where we got them from and I told him I got them from the band's publicists and the bands Relient K and Rufio were clearly circled on the passes. He made us go show them to the dude at the top of the stairs who approved them and gave the signal for 3 songs and then he's like "Sorry about that, I just had to make sure." Yea, like hell you did. Rufio did really well but once again, no one knew who they were. MXPX came on and played mostly songs that I didn't know. Will they ever play "GSF"? Relient K came on and made me suffer. BLEH. I was annoying everyone around me. hahaha I was hardcore dancing and doing the metal fingers gesture and I whenever the lead singer was like "We love our friends in Over It" I was like "I LOVE JESUS! FUCK YEA!" and I would keep saying fuck yea over and over again hahahaha I got excited when they name dropped Jesus in a song.

Lowell and I left during their encore to start passing out materials. Lowell was really into it and really good at it. He was jumping around and following people. hahaha I gave him all the information to join the Street Syndicate so he'll probably join and help out in Texas when he moves back there next semester.

Nintendo Fusion Tour on Thursday

Got out of lab at 3:30 (way earlier than expected) and called Dan to come over. He came over around 4 and I asked him to drive so we could speed and get there faster. Got to Kansas City around 7:30 and tried to find a parking space. The parking lot for Karsch's Apple Market was all full and we just happened to find a meter right in front of the venue and since it was past 6pm it wasn't one hour parking anymore. SCORE! Went to will call and got my press pass really easily but peeling it off wasn't happening so easily. Got in and they didn't even check us or anything. Dan and I said our goodbyes and I tried to figure out how to get down to the barricade to take pictures. I tried going down one side but saw that it was nothing but kids so I went back up and asked a security guard how I could get down to the barricade to take pictures. She went around asking various people and finally pointed me in the right direction and I basically had to squeeze by this narrow space to get in. It was ridiculous. They had the whole area pigpenned so there was no clear path and I had to crawl over boxes that were used to block off kids from going into the barricade area just to get down there. It was insane. I got down there and didn't think that they'd let me take pictures of the Starting Line since I came in after the first 3 songs but they let me stay up there as long as I wanted to. It was really nice. I got about 76 pictures of TSL then I left the barricade area and went and looked at the merch and talked to Jim. All of FOB's shirt designs kind of suck.

I went back up to the barricade area and waited for FOB to come on. The stuff that they play in between TSL and FOB's set where it's supposedly dirty talking and playing different songs off of the "American Wasteland" soundtrakc doesn't sound like Dirty. The voice is really really annoying and when he first announced it was him all the 15 year olds started screaming. He's 10 years older than you girls. Keep dreaming.

The photo pit was insane. There were about 8-9 other photographers in there with me. I had people all around me shooting. People were shooting over me and under me. Definitely a lot different than the MXPX show where me and Karissa were the only photo people (this still baffles me). Of course they were really strict about the 3 song limit and kicked us out after the 3rd song and pushed us back into the masses of the crowd and made me have to push all the kids out of the way to breathe. I went to the back and found Dan again and we proceeded to watch FOB's set. I was really surprised that hardly ANYONE knew any songs by FOB whether they were old or new. I can understand not knowing anything off of EOWYG and maybe TTTYG but there's NO reason why you can't know anything off of FUCT. I honestly believe that half of these kids just bought tickets to hear sugar and to see Pete and I think that's bullshit. I was singing "Chicago is so Two Years Ago" and this girl next to me kept giving me weird looks not matter what song I was singing like how could I possibly know the words? When they played "Tell that Mick..." and it breaks into "I hope you choke..." and normally Patrick cuts off the vocals and leaves it up to the audience and everyone in the venue would be screaming out the words but that wasn't the case last night. NO ONE knew the words. Like maybe 1/4 of the place was singing along. I was so disappointed so I started screaming at the top of my lungs and got lots of weird looks. Well, if you assholes can't represent then I guess I'll have to. Of course no one knew "Moving Pictures" and right before "Moving Pictures" Pete gave me a fucking shoutout. The last time I remember him giving me a shoutout was last year on my birthday. He said something along the lines of "the good thing about coming back to the midwest is seeing all these familiar faces. Stump Club (my friends made that shirt), my friend Ashley from St. Louis...." fuck yea bitches! I started freaking out and screaming. hahaha

Dan and I let during "Dance, Dance" to go back to his car and get the promo stuff to pass out. For a sold out show it didn't seem like we got that much stuff passed out. For every kid I saw with a homemade shirt with "Sugar" lyrics on it I wanted to say "nice shirt asshole."

After we got the Gorillaz postcards passed out we stood around waiting for Mike to come outside so we could figure out our next move. After waiting for forever we ran into Brendon and Ryan and talked to them for a little bit and then decided to go over by the buses and wait there. There I was bombarded by Melissa, Michelle and Roxanne. Eventually Mike and his friend AJ came over and we decided to go get food because I was starving and we all wanted to eat. We went to this diner place called Chubbies and soon Panic! walked in as well. haha

It took us forever to figure out what to eat. Everyone but me got cheeseburgers. I decided on a half of biscuits and gravy. They had a full portion, a half and a third and I figured a third might be like two so I got a third. It took forever to get our food and the entire time we were waiting we were trying to convince Pete to come eat with us but he wouldn't budge. A couple girls came up and asked Panic! for their autographs and I can't believe they would do that while they're eating. When I got my food there was a plateful of biscuits. There were like 9 biscuits on the plate. I can only imagine what a full portion would be like. The gravy was SO good. There were chunks of meat in it and everything. Yum yum. At the end of the meal, before we left, we ordered a shake to be sent to Panic!'s table with the message "swear to shake it up" (get it? milkshake? swear to shake it up?) on a napkin wrapped around it and when Panic! got it Brendon started CRACKING UP. haha He thought it was so funny. It was so great.

After that we left and we were trying to meet up with Pete so we could say goodbye. We walked around by the gates and there were only about 3 kids left waiting and went over on the hill and I tried iming Pete to get him to come out. We were freezing because it was really fucking cold outside. We couldn't get a hold of Pete so we walked back around to Panic's van and ran back into them and we talked to them for a while and got really funny van stories from them.

"What did you do with your trailer?"'

"We left it someplace"
"Where?"
"Someplace in Oregon...I think we can sell the trailer for like $500."

They then proceeded to tell us the hilarious story of the raccoon they kind of took as a souvenir.

We finally got a hold of Pete via IM and he was telling me that he was outside of his bus but I couldn't see him so I ran to the other gate by security and couldn't see him and he told me he was over the van so I called Mike to see if Pete was over by him and he said that he was so he kept him there until me and Dan came back around to say hi.

After we talked to Pete, Dan and I drove Mike and his friend back to their hotel and then drove back to St. Louis. We didn't get home until 4:30am so I had no intention of going to my 10am class but I woke up at 7am with horrible stomach pains and basically spent my entire day like that in bed in pain or in the bathroom. It was horrible. I couldn't eat until today.

So Friday was the Spitalfield show in Wheaton, IL. Picked up Dan a lot earlier than when we went to Chicago a month ago (no box drama hahah). On our way to Chicago we stopped at Steak and Shake in Normal and had this waiter who resembled my ex-bf to a T. It was really creepy. I pulled a picture of my ex up on my sidekick and showed it to Dan and he agreed and then showed it to our waiter and he agreed and thought it was really creepy as well. He was kind of surprised that I didn't want any fries with my food and I told him that I wasn't a big fan of fries or vegetables or the 1000 Island dressing that they call "Frisco Sauce" and he's like "Yea, you don't want that nitroglycerin." And I said "especially since I don't have any heart problems" and then once he left I quoted Panic hahaha just because I had to. "And those smokes in that cigarette box on the table they just so happen to be laced with nitroglycerin." Got into Chicago around 8 and parked in Wheaton and everything and walked into the venue around 8:30 (no traffic!) just as the Hush Sound was finishing. I joked to Dan as we were parking about what would happen if we walked in and they were just finishing up and he made it clear that he would kill me. We got to hear like 30 seconds of their last song. I was kinda sad because I wanted to see them to but I really wanted to see Spitalfield. Dan wasn't too happy. A really shitty band called "City on Film" came on after The hush Sound and we couldn't stand them so we went and stood outside with all the smokers. *I wanted to die* Seriously, every kid there had a sidekick and was on his sidekick. It was sick. I got the pink bunny shirt I've been wanting for forever. The one Pete was wearing when he got whacked in the face with Joe's guitar. Now I don't have to buy it off of him. hahaha Spitalfield came on and played a lot of old stuff and new stuff, but mostly old stuff. It was cool that they had all their former members there but they were missing someone, TJ. He was the whole reason I drove 5 hours to this show. I wanted to see Spitalfield one last time as I had always known them. He never showed up. I don't even think I saw him on the side of the stage. I was pretty pissed off. That and I couldn't go to Chipotle because the closed at 10 and the show ended at 10:30 :( Left at like 11 and didn't get home until 5am or so. There were some traffic getting out of Chicago, car accidents and whatnot. I didn't sleep well at all. People are loud.Pictures They're not the best because I had to keep switching from flash to no flash because it was so dark and I was so far away and people were moving and whatnot.

Yesterday I went and saw Across Five Aprils and saw Alex for the first time in forever. It was nice. The guy at the door was giving me grief with my id. He was flipping it over and checking the hologram. It's very obvious that my ID isn't fake. If you look at the issue date you'll see that I was 16 when I got it by doing the math. If you do the math you'll figure out that the expiration date matches up with my birthdate and it's very obvious that the picutre isn't recent and I think people use recent pictures on their fake IDs.

12 Summers Old came on first and they're pretty good. Novella came on next and they're pretty good too. The kids in the pit are fucking RIDICULOUS though. Kids in St. Louis can't dance. Period, end of story. They're a bunch of fucking idiots flailing their arms and kicking and that's it. That's all they know how to do. They look like morons. There were kids like riding on each others backs throwing eachother into the crowd. WTF is this? Homoerotic 101? Come on. I wanted to go in there and show them how it's done. A5A apparently got a new singer and he's fat which shattered all my dreams of how I thought he would have looked. haha I got to do a sing along during Pawn Shop Promises and it felt good because I can't remember the last time I got to do one.
