Friday I went to Punchline/Mest/Bayside/Hawthorne Heights. Punchline went on first and no one had any idea who they were (as per usual). Unfortunately I was on the side so Steve and Chris couldn't see me singing along. Paul saw me of course (I seriously think he has the hots for me or something. hahah). They played all the stuff I wanted to hear minus stuff off the Rewind EP but what do I expect. Bayside was next and they rocked and played basically the same set that they did on the BND tour. Was one of the only kids singing along to "Cold and Blue and Lifeless." I left the front when HH came on and sat up by the merch because I was having a coughing fit. Mest are bastards and made everyone raise their prices to 20 bucks for shirts. That's so ridiculous. I didn't even consider paying that much for 10 dollar shirts. Punchline didn't really have anything that I saw that I liked. There were some shirts they had in May that I liked but they only had like slim pickins. I talked to Chris about him crashing their van and thanked him for writing the letters and how mine was awesome. Paul came over and talked to me and was telling me how he noticed me on stage and whatnot. Blah blah blah. Didn't really talk to PJ or Steve. Nightbeast was playing bass for HH because their bassist's grandma died and he flew home for a couple days. They're pretty good. I left during their last two songs so I could avoid the smoke and take my medication. Came home and Adam and I went and rented "The Hot Chick" and watched that and then I went to bed.

Saturday I woke up at 10am and took a shower and got my stuff ready and went and picked up Dan and headed on out to Chicago. We got to the venue around 6 or something and due to my awesome Chicago luck with parking and not getting tickets we didn't drive too far until I found a meter. Emily kept texting Dan about when we were gonna get there. She was already inside by the time we got there. There weren't that many kids in there at all. I was expected a big crowd at least for the Academy. We got there during the last song by The Snake, The Cross and the Crown which is just a weird band. It's like the kind of music you'd expect to hear when you go to a coffee shop. They had these weird light up mannequin heads on stage with them and extra kids playing snare drums...I don't know what was going on. I felt like I should have been smoking weed or something. The Academy came on next and I swear they've gotten worse since I saw them in January (if that's even possible). I remember them being rocking and more like TBS and on Saturday they were more jam band and whatnot. It was just strange. Without Bill swinging his mic around they're a lot less entertaining to watch. I played games on my phone to avoid the horrible ear bleeding. I started shuddering and dry heaving. I think it's Bill's voice that I can't stand the most. Number One Fan was on after them because they had technical difficulties and the wheel fell off their trailer/van so they came late and traded spots with the Academy. They were a jam band too. I was just tired and wanted AFS to come on. Finally AFS came on and played an awesome set that included "Slip Like Space" and the two new songs I wanted to hear. Emily and I danced during "Car Under Water." Throw down the dance party. Afterwards Dan and I left to go get some famous Chicago pizza. Being there made me sad because Chicago isn't the same without Kyle. Pizza isn't the same without Kyle :( We sat and talked in the restaurant for a while making fun of bums and certain kids. We didn't leave Chicago until 10:30-11. Driving down Lakeshore Drive at night when downtown is lit up is amazing. I didn't get home until 4-4:30am. I hate when you're just about to fall asleep and then people have to call and wake you up. Boo :(

Sunday I tried to sleep in but got up at 12-12:30 which means I only got like 7-8 hours of sleep. Lame. Went grocery shopping, did homework and then left around 6:30 for the Coheed show. Got into Coheed and got a space on the side of the stage and texted people during the first two bands. 3 was the first opener and they were pretty good. Interesting, but good. They had 2 guitarists, a bassist, a drummer and then another drummer that played bongos and a synth. It was crazy. They had some awesome drum solos. They'd be a band that I'd want to only see live. Underoath came on after them and they were pretty good until they finished their set and mentioned god about 5 times. The singer had to mention it and then the drummer and then the synth player. Please don't bring religion into your music. It just ruins everything. "God bless you all." "you're beautiful" "Jesus loves you all." *heaves* Just no. Coheed came on and played everything I wanted to/expected to hear. They didn't play "Time Consumer" though which surprised me.

Pics from Saturday and Sunday

Ashley bragged about her experience at 2:15 AM.
